I had a really good time with City of Amber! Rules light and narrative focused but it still manages to feature meaty enough combat that you'll need strategy to survive. The amber system is an innovative mechanic that leads to some weighty choices, its not just straight advancement. Everything costs you something,nothing is permanent, and anything can be lost.
