If you were using the PC downloaded version we could take a look at your save game file and try fix the problem? It will be found here: 
C:\Users\[Your user name]\AppData\LocalLow\UnsignedDouble\Fossil Quest

You can email that file to lasse@unsigneddouble.com and we will take a look ASAP.

Unfortunately not, I'm sorry. If you remember how/when it happened then we could try to recreate it and patch it so at least it won't happen again. But we won't be able to fix your specific save game so you can carry on, you would need to start over. I'm sorry it must be very frustrating, wish we could :-(

i also had the same problem playing in the browser, it happened on day 12 after reloading from an excavation.
