The mechanics are already explained in-game, but this is a game that requires paying attention to stats and conditions. For example, sleeping with a full hunger bar is actually inefficient: you can go to sleep with very low hunger with no penalty, which is the intended strategy early on. Social and romantic interactions also depend heavily on your current state, so they can’t be approached randomly.

This isn’t meant to be a casual, no-planning experience, but a more deliberate management-focused dating sim.
