This is an awesome first-ever game jam submission! (Game jams are brutal). :D
I really, really love the pixel art in this game! So charming and wonderfully animated. ^w^
Would love to see what more time would have brought this project! There's a lot of potential here that was unable to be fully tapped due to the time constraints... but it's a really solid foundation! If you choose to build on it, I look forward to seeing what you create!

Regarding the camera —
I was alright with it (it didn't bug me that much). But something you can consider doing is having the camera pan towards your current aim direction! It might make aiming feel a bit more responsive. If you try to support gamepads, make sure to create a virtual reticle of sorts (that is driven by mouse/joystick input) and have the camera pan towards that! I have a feeling that'll make aiming feel a bit more active and engaging. :D

thank you so much! I loved making the art for the game and i'd love if the gameplay itself could show the same level of care i put into the art. I've read a couple comments on things i should add or change and basically all of them are going to be added because this communitys got some amazing ideas. I can't wait to keep working on it and make it a better gameplay experience.

I was a bit unsure on how to make the camera work, I kept watching these videos saying making the camera pan towards the direction you move is good but i'm certain I overdid it looking back. The camera reticle idea is actually genius - i'll definetly try add something like that thank you so much.
