A shame choices don't matter, and practically cease being a thing starting shortly into act 2. MC becomes insufferable too, one dumb decision after the next which did not feel natural or in line with his character. Post-credit felt out of place. Great plot though 7/10
Even with people disliking your comment, I get what you mean. MC was hard to connect to and root for halfway through the story. And the fact that he somewhat does not develop much to actually become a decent person, makes him quite hard to like.
But I disagree that it was not in line with the character. Everything was laid out to us, and his reasons and drives were clear. But just like he became cruel and out of control, he could have learned from it to become a good person by the end of the story. But he was left power hungry, ambitiour and who's to say he is not cruel still.
Yeah, good story, "bad" MC, feels like he is setup like this to be a villain in some sequel.
