I wanted to health and ammo indicators to be subtle and not exactly game-like, I didn't want just a number on screen. The plan was to have the screen slightly pulsate red depending on your remaining health, and maybe have some kind of visual indicator based on your ammunition, like a half-loaded clip, but I ran out of time for that. I ran out of time for a lot of stuff, you can tell how I half-assed the ending screen lol. It was my literal first jam ever, so the fact that it functions as a video game is good enough for me.
