As for the holojam submission it is not very hololive'y (although Ina is a kind of a jelly so it could count? :D).
Nonetheless I had fun playing it, I reached level 3. With very little lighting it was a little horrorish experience, not gonna lie I was on my toes while walking around the area, unsure whether something will come up or it will be just slimes. So there is potential here for some plot twist along the way.
I highly recommend playing the game with headphones although the gunshot sound is a little bit on the louder side so be careful with volume. Finding slimes is much easier by tracking them with their jumping sound, even when it is very quiet from longer distances. Without it, it might be on the harder side or more based on luck with the spawn locations.
Things that I would improve:
- If you would like to try the horrorish vibe, I would make slimes move towards the player and deal damage. At first they would be easy pray but later on with high numbers, it could get quite tense
- If you want to puruse the pure slime hunter, some abilities or ways to track slimes would be benefitial, to make the playthrough less dependent on luck and more on strategy and senses. The sound of the slimes could be some interesting idea to pursue, something like a "focus" mode where the player can hear slimes from longer distances and they have to more the camera around to figure out the direction
- Option to slow down the walk or crouch could be benefitial. Mainly to remove the sound of the player's steps. While playing I would very often "jump around" to reduce the walking sound to minimum, so I could hear slimes more effectively. This could be connected with the point above in some way.
- The font on the timer and tutorial text for catching slimes was a little bit too small. On the first try I didn't even notice them and was slightly confused.
From "bug" side:
- Sometimes slimes could spawn inside the shelves or on the shelves. The spawn inside was actually more helpful for the player as they would constantly jump, making them easier to be located by sound. The ones on shelves were a little bit harder, but jumping and pressing E was enough so it's not a blocker.
Overall a very nice learning experience and a pretty nice game a result. Good job! Thank you for making this ^_^
