firstly, this game is.. something. i love platformers a lot, especially when they contain hidden secrets and hidden things to collect, some of my favourite titles are "Rayman Legends" "New Super Mario Bros WII" (that isnt ww2 thats wii the nintendo console) i hate the fact that this game doesnt allow the universal "wasd" controls that pretty much every game uses. this little thing makes or breaks a game for me personally but never the less it was playable.
i beat the game twice, once collecting all the coins and got the collected all coins ending, and i alternatively tried to beat it again without collecting all of the coins just to be met with the same ending. i was hoping for something different or some secret maybe, collecting coins feels useless and they pretty much change nothing. i felt as if the coins were already tedious to collect and for the first 2 short levels it felt on par with the difficulty id expect. The tutorial screen is plain and i would change it a bit yk? but dont turn it into an eye sore. its clean simple text does the job and you shouldnt fix something that isnt broken, just optimize it.
youre theme is kept all throughout the game and thats good, however i found that it is extremely hard to jump when playing, i hated it at first as the jump was so low and fast, however i then realised that this made the game more challenging and it grew on me as a casual player, i have nothing to say about the music or sounds used, they were there but they werent anything out of this world, nor anything bad, they fit and did the job and it feels like you just stuck with what worked.
the pivoting point of the game is obviously the enemy, theyre the major threat, in saying that they are also very easy to avoid and dismiss. maybe if they were in other places other than just on the ground, or maybe they climbed walls or fell from the sky like a raining acid storm of sorts. i feel as if the game can be tedious however with very little risk factor at play. i found the health indicator useless upon instant death when touching a "Tungsten Slime" which is what i had coined and decided to refer to them as. but overall its a neat little game which is very cute to play
if you decide to take away anything from this i would take away this:
at the end of a section you teleport to another section, please dont do this, just make it one long section. it feels off and short. its an abrupt change and it isnt necessary, you could have just made it one long part, and maybe even made it longer than it was. thats the first thing i would fix or take away from this review. the font also does not match the game and i would try and fix that aswell, try finding a font that matches the game so it doesnt feel out of place, it takes away from my experience and it ruins the effect of it being "medieval" if that makes sense.
