In case one of you ends up here and tries to run the Itch version of the game on Linux: It’s a little tricky. The game was ported from KiriKiri to Unity a few years ago, but this did not make it back to the Itch release, now referred to as the “legacy” version of the game. As such, here’s a short unofficial guide to getting this older release working on Linux:

  1. Use Proton, either via Steam or via umu-launcher. I haven’t had luck with wine-staging as of writing.
  2. On some environments, the game will only display correctly on the first connected display. If you can hear sound, but only see a black screen, that is most likely the issue you’ve ran into.
  3. The credits video won’t play. I think you can just wait through it to finish the game.

The rest works fine. As for the novel itself, strongly recommended.

thank you! huge help
