Played through the whole thing. I mean, I really like how my most favoirte "bleeding" quadrant is present in the story, that being the vulgar, the stupid, the wise and the dead.
I literally don't care if you delete this reply, here's my unsolicited critique:
Main Character (MC) is a box of hammers level of dense. As in, he's not estabilished across the arc in a meaningful way that allows the player to either inhibit him, or roleplay as yourself, meaning that at any given point, how you present yourself in the VN is contradicting itself.
This is not saved by the five main supporting characters within the story being written really well (kudos for writing the black coffee girl, you know who I'm talking about).
The pacing is a little jarring initially, with the segments about daily drama at the first 3 chapters dragging out incessantly, which where credit is due, later on get polished nicely into a functional stream of events between the characters, important occurences and trivia.
Now onto the good stuff;
Writing of characters is phenomenal. I say this as someone who's probably the straightest person on this platform, but I do fancy how these characters respond diegetically, non-monolithically and generally showcase a genuine spark of personality during encounters. That's a big strong point of this, and the relationships are written in a very mature way, that's very realistic.
Secondly, shit just keeps hitting you. That's very good. Absurdly good in a story centered about a single area, roughly decoupled from people living in it by virtue of being old. And the way characters are written, to have traits that work in the world, instead of a vacuum are worth capitalising on. Traits are beneficial, but they can be anything in a given context, they can be detrimental, funny, or precious depending on the writing, which is a good sign.
All in all, tldr; I'm a chubby chaser, and I give this game a resounding HAM out of SPAM. Even made an account just to say this.
