Actually, there's no such thing as buying the game. Under normal circumstances, you rent the game monthly on every other platform. I believe it's only on the itch.io platform that once you purchase the game, you get unlimited access to all versions. This unnecessarily pushes all other supporters into the background. That's why I don't plan on giving itch.io special treatment.
