I was really, REALLY excited to buy this game - I've wanted to play it for a long time now!! When I boot it up, though, pressing the enter key to start a new game does nothing. Whether it's on my keyboard or the number pad, neither key work to click the button. I'm just wondering if anyone else has encountered this and what they did to fix it? 

I've had the same problem but can't figure out how to fix it. Is there a way to contact the creator?

I believe the Z key is the confirm button for this game. Alternatively you can play the game with a controller. So I just plugged in my Xbox controller and used that get past the title screen. 

Z or spacebar should work on the title screen.  Also, F1 can be pressed to bring up the keybindings window.
