Thank you for taking the time to write all this out! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and your feedback is very helpful and actually quite encouraging. I'm especially grateful for you including screenshots of the bugs, as it makes it much easier to track things down.
There's planned to be more elaboration on the backstories of characters in the final game, through both the main story and some specific character-focused sidestories.
