Sure Steam has problems but the fact you suggest anyone using a company that actively spies on you using their Launcher and Unreal Engine and own games just defeat your entire rant.
Never buy on Epic never trust Epic they are worse than Steam no matter their problems, and the main reason is simple you are a income source with your privacy and data, their Launcher spies on you, their games spy on you, their Unreal Engines spy on you so any game made using it will spy on the users that uses it. This is way worse.
