The comments below won't stop hinting that this IF may be an abandoned project, but I still wanted to write, in case comments are reaching the author, to let them know that I appreciate the craft and attention to detail in the writing. From the very beginning, the character choices you give the player are so full of personality. It's unclear if these choices really do anything but flavor the player's experience of reality, and create a sense of fullness and texture that feels like deep embodiment. The freedom players have in how they respond to grief over the mother's 'illness' blew me away. I never expected to be given the chance to have such a genuine emotional response to the hospital scenes in the beginning. I admire that creative choice, and I'll be carrying this inspiration into my own Twine games (and likely sending friends and players to play this, even though it may be incomplete forever).

Every character introduced (even when it's a character who seems like they won't return again, like the man at the desk in the hospital scenes) gets such deep and rich attention. It really feels like we're dealing with an observant protagonist, at the very least, which is deeply entertaining and enjoyable to click through and read. I can't stress enough how charming it is that I can choose both how close I was with my mother and which snack I got from the vending machine. The physicality of scrabbling at my jaw and mouth with my own hands after being magically silenced by the being in the wool coat (why is Amory so weird?) is soooo like... delicious??? Lazier writers would lean on the magic and never slip in details about the horrifying lost agency of being a 'normal human' interacting with a magical stranger for the first time? Of course there's some typos and grammar things, punctuation stuff, etc. But they way you reveal information and carry out the worldbuilding? Incredible. All three LIs introduced so far? Incredible! The magic system? Amory? The King? In-cred-ible. Rune and Cyrus are my favorites.

I hope you continue to write and hone your skills. I roundly enjoyed what I experienced this afternoon.
