Actually Autosave activates for every Map Transition. It saves before the Choices. Does mean it's still possible to get out with the Autosave.
But you are not the only one who has this spezific Concern at this Point.
Btw if you lose your Save, there is a Way to unlock the entire Game without load a 100% Savefile. The Game will tell you that at some Point.
