well thank you. i'm really glad you liked the original version. i know at the time the original was finished, some people didn't think a revamp was needed, but the support on the revamp from those that were loyal to the original has been very positive. while i'll admit that i'd hoped the revamp would be finished by now, i also didn't ever dream the quality of the revamp would reach where it is with each passing update. i had a lot of high expectations for it but even i've been surprised. so i hope that if/when you decide to visit it, that it meets your expectations as well. so much more heart than the original. it just feels more confident to me and that's a really good feeling.
in terms of leaving the old version up once the revamp is complete: i probably won't publicly on sites like this. On my patreon page, i still have the original demo posted-- which is quite awful, lol-- but i think it's good to openly show where you've been. I'm not ashamed of the original and I know the bulk of people that like the original, like it because they followed it for a long time and the quality of the project changing over time just became part of their own journey and that's nostalgic. however, having multiple versions of the same game on a website can be confusing. i try to describe it pretty clearly here on the itch.io page but people still get mixed up. So odds are, once the revamp is complete, i'll remove the original and the revamp will be the definitive edition. however, i'll likely keep the original on the patreon page for curious peeps -- or even new developers have checked it out just to get an idea where things started.
