ADDENDUM:
I didn't actually mention it directly, and if you interpret my text a certain way you could even pick up the opposite of what I meant:
The story is good! It's concise, handles the emotional topics it wants to in a way that works well. It's just not the most groundbreaking thing.
I forgot to specify that former thing before stating the latter in the review.
