I like to have some familiarity with the source material before I include a character, and I have yet to watch Akame ga Kill.
Once I do get around to it, though, I don’t see any issue with her being included down the line :)
The anime has 24 episodes, but I recommend reading the manga. The manga only has 78 chapters, since the anime omitted some things after episode 17.
