There are 24 lucky finds but it is possible (maybe) to soft-lock yourself if you have already collected gold fossils for all the other fossils :-( In that case no more dig-sites will appear.

Is there anything from Fossil Fighters that you really enjoyed? Any mechanics or anything that we could use as inspiration for any mechanics or features in Fossil Quest?

I'm not 100% certain about the soft-locking... I'm on my laptop on holiday so I can't be 100% sure of the logic around it but I'm somewhat sure this is how it works.

One more thing: erm... not sure to share this but if you destroy I think 50 - 100 blocks without getting a lucky find you should be guaranteed to get a lucky find when you destroy the next block. If that doesn't happen then there is a bug.

Thanks for your reply! I don't think that I'm soft-locked, I'll try the 50-100 block trick and tell you if it works.

From what I remember of Fossil Fighters  I liked the surprise of discovering the shape of the fossil  while excavating it. Maybe you could try layering rocks to hide the fossil a bit more? I really enjoy the three dimensional aspect of excavating in your game though!

Also you could add something visually different when you get better quality fossils, or an all silver or all gold complete dinosaur. Maybe a themed painting that you can hang in the museum or a alternative version of the dinosaur with skin? Idk, just throwing ideas here :")

Sooo I broke well over 200 blocks and no lucky find... :(

Man im so sorry! There is another restriction in place which might be affecting you. Not all the lucky finds can be found at every location. The locations and lucky finds are as follows:

Colorado:

Karoo:

Montana:

Saskatchewan:

Let me know which one you're missing and where it spawns. Perhaps that area is closed?

thank you for the list! now I know that I'm looking for the Fire Opal in Colorado
