So I actually spliced the code from one of the "AltMenuScreen" plugins included with RPG Maker into the default menu script. I forget which one it is at the moment, but in your DLC folder for RPG Maker MV/MZ there are a few plugins included even if you haven't yet purchased any. Check it out!
