My initial thoughts after ten to fifteen minutes of play:

There's some unnecessarily flowery writing here. Who's the in-game character adding these expressive notes on tones of voice and suggestions of intimacy to the transcripts? These are simple documents; they should be descriptive of the facts, not interpretative. It would both be more convincing and show greater respect for the player's ability to understand the story. My sense is that the writer's grasp on dialogue and stage directions is not marvellous, although plotting and the greater feel for story seem good so far. I'm curious to explore the various threads that are opening up early on.

As for the gameplay: Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, I suppose, but games that so closely copy their inspirations bother me. Type Help can at least claim the credit for creating an imitable form of gameplay, and if, in time, it shows the kind of breadth of influence that Obra Dinn has, then this game will appear as merely an early adopter - but at the moment, this is close to plagiarism. That said, the use of a variety of document and record types and the clickable interface do show intent to expand upon Type Help, which I'm glad to see.

Despite my reservations, I'm enjoying this game so far and I have no doubt that I'll see it through to completion. I look forward to continuing to play it.
