I can’t play the game. I try to select it, but it takes me back to the home screen and doesn’t let me play properly.

Why? xD You must do something different than most people who can play the game. I'm unable to provide a reason with so little data.

is there any other place to download it? ive deleted and reinstalled it 3 times and the issue persists so maybe its itch? i have no clue. it doesnt even let me select the "i'm 18+ and id like to see the content" option it shows up but then it just cuts to the menu after a split sec

No. Sadly the only legit one is on itch. I did some research. Do you have the most recent Python installed on your PC?

I suspected a file was corrupted, but this is the fifth time I've installed it and the problem persists. I'll wait for the next update to see if it fixes it.
