I had chance to try this just now, I am also trying my skills on a Castlevania prototype so I was searching for what others have done.

Great job but biggest problem is that controls are not responsive. There's always some kind of feeling like delay on the character. Sometimes Alucard doesn't even jump when I am on the perfectly plain ground. Making it perfectly hard to enjoy the demo.

Even worse, when enemies attack you they literally lock you out of controls for several seconds.

IMHO, responsive controls are most critic part of platformer games (unless design of the game tells different)

Good luck!
