I thought having a dozen Merry Minstrels instead of just one was suspicious! Perhaps one (or several) of them was involved in the theft.

I wonder if it really is one of the Merry Minstrels or if, maybe, the multiple Minstrels was a diversion. The easiest way to clear one's name would be to come forward as the person who received the special invitation, but it is possible that the real culprit sent out extra letters to redirect suspicion away from non-Minstrel party-goers. Or maybe I'm overthinking this. We'll just have to wait and see...
