No, this purge-the-forest-thing is a relic from the earliest days of the game. The idea was to show the player that there is content where you have to gather perversion for. It will be changed :-)

in game folder, go to /save/ and select one of the .rmmzsave files, then open as json format. ctrl+f for gold/perversion, etc. then be sure to click "edit  & encode & download" and then download the file and replace your save file with it.
