I didn't even think to use long furbies as a reference but now I wish i had! I wanted the snow wasset to be a mix of cute and unsettling and I feel like long furbies are the perfect combination of that.
For the face I used a west highland white terrier as inspiration, and for the body I drew from a mix of a stoat / brushbuddy (a fantasy creature from the Witch Hat Atelier manga).
