100% CPU usage and screen artefacts

Hello

My laptop is a Lenovo T440. Specs:
CPU: Intel Core i5 4300U
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4400
RAM: 8GB
OS: Ubuntu GNOME 16.04.2 64-bit

It's not an incapable laptop - it can play basic games like League of Legends and older LEGO games.

The game runs fine in the menu. When starting the game, CPU usage goes up to 100%, the game lags, and the window has strange black artefacts. The artefacts get worse when at the edges of the "stage" (before the camera pans to the next stage).

I have tried disabling all special effects (or changing them to the minimum) and the same problem occurs.

It could be a problem with Ubuntu GNOME (I've only recently started using it), or possibly the Linux Intel Graphics drivers. Either way, I'd like to see this fixed!

Cheers

Hmm, it might be the intel drivers - I don't believe I'm doing anything out of the ordinary with rendering things... Do you possibly have another OS on that computer that you could test with?

Also, I've updated with a new build that allows you to bring up the profiler using the 1 key - can you download and run the build, enable the profiler, and take a screenshot of the FPS, profiler values, and OpenGL information (all in the same place, top-left corner box)?
