Wow! Cool idea and very polished result. The only thing that bothered me a bit was the hitstop effect when using the sword. It lessened the otherwise very smooth feeling of the game. A great job nonetheless!

Thanks for this! It's a very valid critique.

I designed the hitstop partly as a way to let the player "adjust" for a very brief moment. Hitting an enemy with the sword sends you forward with a lot of force (twice as much as swinging the sword without hitting an enemy). Unfortunately, I found this force to be a little unwieldy at full game speed, so the hitstop was added as a very small pause to anticipate the incoming impulse and trajectory.

That said, I really should add an option disabling or adjusting it. Thanks so much for playing!
