Yeah, I think I effectively soft locked myself by not having enough ascension perks that boost aberrant mass gathering, so I can't get any further to get more ascension perks in order to get any of the late game perks to actually win the game.
The ascension perks are reassign-able, you can click on them again to unassign, so you can respec your build every time you reset!
