Indie development doesn't really sustain itself solely through hopes and dreams, you need buyers or supporters. I don't really see any other releases for you to profit off of, so just because it turned out to not be as profitable as you thought doesn't mean you can just switch up and pretend you've been developing this game completely for free for the sake of that "I don't get anything from this, guys" excuse.
Also you're just optimizing the game while describing it in the most dramatic way possible
