Just bought the game some days ago, and I'm planning on being the judge and preparing a campaign. It will be my first time as a DM(i played lots of dnd and ten candles) and me and my group are really hyped and have some cool ideas(Binder with each card created on the campaing and things like that.

Today i wanted to show them each archetype, so they can start choosing, and having ideas for their character, deck theme, and gameplay style while im still reading the book. But this created a doubt in me. Should i buy the expansion and play the first campaign already with the expansion? Or would it be better to use the expansion only on a second campaign/oneshot? The doubt sparked because i remembered that there where 5 new archetypes of character here, and more mechanics and ideas for decks, so i would love to give them that so theres more variety, but i don't know if starting with the expansion already included would be too much.

Loving the book right now and we are all really hyped about this!

The expansion pack archetypes are designed with more experienced play and more specific archetypes in mind, but I'd say that at the mentor and lovestruck are fairly comparable to the most complex base game ones.

I'd say give it a look, we have sections in each playbook on how they could impact things, and worst case there's still a bunch of npc encounters and stuff that could be useful!

Just bought it because i'm loving the first book, will look at it and decide how many things i could use, for first time. If i don't use any il'll use them on the future for sure, thanks for the quick answer!
