On Linux at least, the game crashes when trying to open up the items. It fails to load the "itemsBG.png". Anyway I or you can fix that?

Hmmmm, interesting, first report of that happening. Could I ask you to check if it's really "itemsBG.png" and not "itemBG.png"? If so, there's an s where it shouldn't be.
Yes, you are correct. The full error is:Loading ErrorFailed to load: img/system/itemBg.png
And then a Retry button, which doesn't help.
