A melody is.. a sequence of single musical notes arranged in a rhythmic pattern to form a recognizable tune or "the tune" of a song.
And a leitmotif (according to Google) is..
a recurrent theme throughout a musical or literary composition, associated with a particular person, idea, or situation.

i think a "leitmotif" is a better term since it emphasizes more on the similarity between two different songs and since the "music" in this case are bound to specific characters it can kinda be considered a (leit)motif
also i get it, these type of comments are obnoxious but go slightly easier on them haha
