I came here from a recommendation post on Pillowfort and I'm so glad I did! I loved the visceral imagery and the rhythm of this story - the image of the closed/opened door and the image of the father changing over the course of the story is so good! The narrator's voice is so strong, and I'm glad they have a good ending.
