Oof. I never thought about save scumming. My gold core didn't drop until i was already max level from farming slimes.
I'll have to check if the loot is predetermined or rng.
Edit: save scumming does not seem possible.
I made a save before killing slime, reloaded after killing it, and it stayed dead.
Best to just keep wiping out all slime spawns per day.
