I've loved this game for a little while now, but I only now noticed how the art is made. I'm assuming you do it that way to make things faster and easier, but as someone who is vehemently against generative AI, I really would like to suggest you at least find someone who can make the art without AI. I know this page says the generated images are edited by a human, but AI is incredibly harmful to the environment and just as, if not more harmful to true artists. I still love the game despite the use of AI, though. Would be a 10/10, but your use of AI knocks it down to an 8.5/10.

Hey! Thank you so much for the kind words, I'm really glad you're enjoying the game! :)

I totally understand that a lot of people have concerns about generative AI, which is why I try to stay transparent about my use of it. To put your mind a little more at ease on the environmental side, I use Stable Diffusion running locally on my own PC with my own GPU, so it's not using massive data centers or anything like that.

That said, I completely agree that the ideal scenario would be hiring an artist! The thing is, hiring an artist requires a substantial amount of money, especially for a game of this scope with all the different characters, expressions, and scenes. I'm a student right now, and this is very much a passion project for me. I really want to be able to share this world and these characters with people, and AI gives me a way to actually make that happen.

I'm not trying to change your opinion or anything, just wanted to share my perspective and why I've made this choice. Down the line, I'm hoping to get to a point financially where I can invest in commissioning an artist to bring the game to an even higher level, but for now this is what makes the project possible.

I really appreciate you sticking with the game despite your reservations, and I hope you'll continue to enjoy it as the story develops! :)
