You jolt awake, spine tingling with terror. Lying still in your bed, you realise you have no control over your muscles. You’re paralysed. Your breathing is sharp and ragged. Your eyes dart around your bedroom, searching for the thing that woke you up. You feel watched… yet you’re alone. The tick of the clock. The rasp of the air in your lungs. Suddenly, your door opens. Just a crack. But it's enough for you to see it standing outside your bedroom – peering in. It’s found you… again.
As the tall, gangly black figure slowly steps into your room, you realise it’s even more terrifying than before. Your eyes widen, and your breath hitches as you behold its face. Or… what’s left of it. You’re trying your best to hold in the scream that was collecting in your throat. Its wide mouth, which stretches from one side of its head to the other, is smiling. It stops before your bed, watching you with its glowing eyes. It lifts one black, thin finger, reaching out to your face. It tilts its head slightly. CCRRRRACK. There goes its neck. It gingerly brushes the tips of its fingers against your cheek, and you suck in a breath as its expression changes and its mouth opens, just a tiny, white, glowing slit. You know you are dead before its claws even reach your throat. The entity has put an end to you.
