It has been about 10 months since the game last had an update. The developer promised to release bits and pieces of an update back in July - August timeframe, but they have yet to release any update and have not explained any further updates since that. They are still active in their discord and swear it's being developed still, but with little to no actual development seen.
On 11 December, they released a several paragraph message detailing everything thus far, including a portion regarding future development. They stated that they hope to release the next update (likely publicly due to the extremely long wait) on the first of the new year. There is the potential that it may still have placeholders for certain images, but they said they would patch this with a future update.
As of right now, that is where we stand.
