Tbh in my first design he was supposed to go through a full depressive-teenager arc in Step 2 (being moody and closed off), a little bit like Qiu and then turn into this totally indifferent guy in Step 3 who didn’t care about anyone (even Opal sadly). Then in Step 4 he would’ve mellowed out and become a calm, trustworthy person who always smiles. But I ended up scrapping that storyline ┐(´д`)┌
