What a pretty little experience! I couldn't help but get Stardew Valley vibes and the theme song was playing in my head haha. Theres so much heart here and Id love to see what more you could do with this going forward.
Really enjoyed this cozy and retrospective game. The writing is atmospheric, and you can clearly picture everything that is happening and the mindset the protagonist is in (and it is rare to see a nurse's perspective to everyday interactions). The foggy weather at the beginning added to the feeling of reality blending with fantasy.
The descriptions for effects being poems that gave hints rather than blatantly spelled out was a nice touch, since it was written by your Aunt who arrived at her findings after years of experimenting and being part of the close-knit community around her cottage that came to rely on her.
Its also nice that you dont feel pressured to create every potion perfectly but are encouraged to experiment and to make mistakes.
It started out a little weak, but found its voice as it went along. The riddles were just the right amount of cryptic, simple without always being obvious. The characters and situations were fun, and I loved that there was a spot in the credits for "Raccoon Handler". Well done.
I like the idea of making potion, it's very fun to play and the story is interesting.
This was a very sweet and heartfelt game. The cryptic rhymes for each ingredient were fun to look over and ponder before making a decision. I think I aced the first one but the second and third gave me a bit of trouble haha! Wasn't able to fix Hylas' fertility issue but at least he won't be green anymore >:D
I also really liked your message at the end, letting the player know that whatever the choice is that we make, we have to own it and be confident in said choice. It speaks to me personally as well in my choice to want to navigate game writing instead of technical writing. Nicely done! :)
Not the sort of game I would usually play but very strong. Very good depth and volume of content for the jam length. Interesting way to incorporate a mechanic through the potion mixing. Quite engrossing. All I would suggest is streamlining volume in occasional places where it's overly wordy - like the early lead up to the more interactive parts. Great work, highly rated.
cute art and i loved getting to make the potions!
