also after finished this game i felt that maybe the cat wanders too far off to the forest and ended up at the same pile of mushroom, which is why its collar was found there.. awww kinda wish we can eventually found the cat :c
it was the mushrooms. if you did one of the bad endings you will find your silhouette there along with your cat's. it was also stated on the creator's tumblr that mychael doesn't care much for pets who succumb to the mushrooms, but he cares about humans.
