How many monsters are there? I’ve only found three so far.
The game feels rather empty I think it need a journal to help track different monster types and to give you some much needed guidance.

I agree, a tentaclepedia of sorts or something would probably help keep track of your progress.
Currently there are four species to discover (purple, red, green & blue), so you're just missing one. ;)
