Ahh! I missed that the tea needed multiple steeps before I could do anything else with it. Stronger reinforcement of what went wrong for a drink when the NPC is giving feedback would've gone a long way towards helping me out here, but I'm back in the shop and serving it up hot (or iced upon request) now.
