I think the choir-like pad is a great choice for this winter ambiance you are going for. I think the static (I think that's what it is) in the background adds a snowy texture in a way. Adding some metallic percussion would be a great way to introduce a bit more of that cold feeling you are going for, although I also think the piece does its job just fine as-is. Very nice and relaxing and also, a really cool process you put on it.
