Itchio said this game says it was updated today in my notifications, but all the download files are from March. does anyone know what the update was? I am really interested in finding out if the game got updated, and where I can download the update.
i am working on pushing a lil update, with some new art and balance tweaks, etc.
this includes some build infrastructure on my end that will let the game check for updates automatically, so i was testing some new uploads on the itch page that i've hidden for now (and whether the game can correctly fetch their version).
i am also working on a long write up of the changes that i would like to release alongside the new downloads for some context, but I may just release them by themselves if that seems more appropriate / timely. (the gist is that this new version will be very "in-dev" in the sense that it is like, partially new art that is very stylistically distinct from the old art, so the game looks arguably more jank than it does right now).
i wasn't sure if itch was going to notify anyone of the new versions... knowing that it has, i may try to speed up my timeline a bit. :)
Can I ask what the difference between the different new downloads are? None of them say which is Windows, Linux, and Mac, and I do not know which I should download, because they are all radically different file sizes. I play on a computer using Windows. I want to download the right nightly version for me.
For some reason you files were flagged by windows for being malicious, and for some reason Itchio also has them flagged for suspiscious creator behavior, but I downloaded the windows.exe after having to repeatedly click on keep because my browser literally repeatedly asked me to confirm if I was sure I could trust the file, the creator, and the safety of it. you might want to make an announcement on that. I have never seen this from any other NSFW game, except for the most obscure taboo kink games as well as people using the most obscure rare game engines and programming tools, since Windows seems to be very hostile to those things being downloaded, and you're the only NSFW creator ever flagged by Itchio for suspiscious behavior I've encountered, and most of my games on Itchio I download and buy are porn and kink games, though every NSFW creator I've encountered on Itchio is flagged by Microsoft's Windows. You should leave an announcement about this gross misunderstanding and mistake by Itchio, and as well as that Microsoft's Windows is excessively anti-kink and anti-Indie Game dev and anti-Indie programmer applications and flags all such shit in their browsers and on Windows Defender.
that's bizarre! for me in both chrome (logged out), and firefox (logged in to a different itch account), i was able to download the file without any warnings. if you happen to have a screenshot of the itch warning i would be interested in what it looks like.
i also get the normal "Windows protected your PC" popup with either download, i'm not sure if that's what you mean by windows flagging it as malicious. i usually expect this popup with any unknown software, and thankfully it's pretty easy to bypass (just two clicks).
ultimately i guess i need to figure out how i want to make this build available on web. some users will not trust the download even if they are able to access it, and some users straight-up cannot download software.
