Advice on Making My Memory Game More Visually Appealing

I’m building a small HTML5 memory game called MemoriBak, and I want to make it more visually pleasing for players. The core gameplay is working, but the visuals still feel basic and not as polished as I’d like. I’m looking for simple tips on improving colors, layout, spacing, animations, or overall presentation in browser games. What are the easiest changes that usually make a big difference in how a game looks and feels? Any advice or examples would be really helpful.
