Seems like the game would be a fun thing to do, but being limited to 3 tries on a guest account and I can't see all the functions of the game in a transperent way is realy just showing that the game will be shortchanging me all the way. 3 tries and "that's all you get, now pay up" is the taste this is leaving me with.
Hi! I just posted to the devlog with more details on how Gear and Glint work for guest accounts vs registered accounts. I'm open to feedback, and if the balance feels off we can definitely consider adjusting it.
For now:

Guest players get 3 Gear per day, and this resets every day.

Registered players get 10 free Gear per week, plus 1 bonus Gear per day if they start the day with 0 Gear.

Gear is only required to enter the mine at Level 1.
Every game is played by wagering Glint. You start at Level 1 with 0.01 Glint, so your very first match requires 1 Gear.
If you win that match you'll have 0.02 Glint, and you won’t need Gear to play Level 1 again as long as you keep some Glint.
Good risk management lets you build a Glint balance and move up levels without using any Gear. You only need Gear again if you go broke and return to Level 1.
