I was expecting to be frightened. I was NOT expecting to shed a tear.
Not only is this a musical masterpiece, ALL the sounds are AMAZING, but to me especially Sky, Garnold, Simon and Durple. Those four always sound heavenly in your mods, yet I cannot help but be simply blown away each and every time!
It has this eerie yet comforting feeling, like you’re lost in an unfamiliar place surrounded by creepy, deformed entities, but instead of hurting you like one might expect, they keep you company, without saying a word. In fact, they’re just as lost as you are. You’re still scared, you don’t know what’s going to happen and whether they’re actually as safe as they seem. But right now, in this moment, things are okay. You’re alive.
And that’s what the overall message of this mod is, isn’t it. The theme ties in so beautifully with the music, and the name takes on a whole new meaning. In fact, it could even mean both. In the darkness, there’s light, but sometimes the darkness itself can be the most comforting. In the darkness you will find those who didn’t make it, but you will also find those still holding on. Take their hand, you may be able to help each other survive. There’s pain in the world, there always will be. But knowing that you aren’t alone can help ease that pain.
I hope more people can see this mod. It truly is a work of art.
