Welcome to Almost Died! (Yes, that's actually the name. Yes, you will almost die. Frequently.)
What is this game?
Remember playing Crossy Road? Or that classic chicken-crossing game from way back? This is basically that, but I made it while learning Godot, so expect chaos.

You play as someone who really needs to get to the other side of the road. Unfortunately, traffic laws don't exist in this universe, and cars are coming at you like it's rush hour in a city with no traffic lights.
How to Play
- Arrow Keys / WASD to move (Android: There's a joystick too!)

- Goal: Cross the roads without becoming roadkill
- Bonus Goal: Do it FAST because there's a timer judging you
- Reality: You'll probably get hit. Multiple times. It's fine. We've all been there.

What I Learned Making This
This is my first actual game in Godot! Built it to learn the basics, and boy did I learn:
- Scene management (how to not break everything)
- Collision detection (how to make cars actually hit you)
- Signals and timers (how to make the game yell at you for being slow)
- Score systems (so you can feel bad about your performance)
Known "Features"
- The difficulty is... let's call it "enthusiastic"
- Sometimes you'll swear you didn't hit that car (you did)
- The timer is merciless
Final Thoughts
Is it perfect? Nope. Is it fun? I think so! Will you rage quit? Probably!
But hey, it's free and I poured my heart into it while learning game dev. Give it a shot and let me know your best time. I dare you to beat mine. 😎
Enjoy, and try not to die too much!
